This week is National Volunteer Week 2020. Chatswood Tennis Club are so fortunate to have such hard working individuals that give up their time willingly for the common good of the sport. These past months have shown us just how hard working everyone is.
Today we want to recognise Mal Nicholson from Chatswood Tennis Club.
Richard Price, CEO nominated Mal because he works tirelessly as the President of Chatswood Tennis Club (CTC). In recent weeks Mal has worked with his Board to deliver a new roof valued at approximately $100,000.
“Continuing to upgrade the facilities is a major focus to provide value to our current members as well as ensuring the long-term future of the club.” Mal said.
During the COVID-19 crisis he has collaborated with Sydney Sports Management (SSMG) contributing significant hours of dialogue around the numerous operational challenges the club faced including having to shut their doors for a week.
He has recruited an excellent Board and implemented a strong governance framework and capital works program and always brings a robust and diplomatic debate to the table.
Mal was also instrumental in steering Chatswood Tennis Club to winning the 2018 NSW Club of the Year by Tennis Australia.
We look forward to continuing to work with Mal in the future.
